MASS-FEEDING UNIT
Certify as a Mass Feeding Responder – Learn Kosher Cooking – Treat Aid & Relief – Deploy to Israel in Crisis
In a national emergency, hundreds of thousands of people will be in a situation where access to fresh, nutritious meals is limited or non-existent. In a partnership with the Ministry of Defense and the IDF, EVP has established a fleet of mobile kitchens that will be deployed to provide fresh, healthy meals to needy populations across Israel during and after national emergencies and disasters.
EVP is looking to partner with communities and individuals to build a network of trained & certified emergency response volunteer teams to deploy to Israel during times of crisis. Community teams of 10 – 15 volunteers train to become certified volunteers in the Emergency Mass Feeding program.
Initial 9-day training is at EVP’s training and logistics center at an IDF base near Jerusalem where teams learn the fundamentals of disaster scenario mass feeding and go into the field to feed IDF units. Following completion of training, participants are certified as Mass Feeding Volunteers in Israel and authorized to volunteer in the IDF through EVP. Communities may send more than one team for training.
Following training and certification it is suggested that teams of 10 – 15 volunteers undergo refresher training once every two years.
